    BASE

The base can be one of several types of compounds – usually: oils, alcohol, or glycerin. One of the most important things to recognize about formulation of herbal medicines is that various combinations can improve, or detract from quality and taste, for unexpected reasons, unless we are familiar with the components and the process. For example, MCT oil is very popular in general nowadays. But when mixes with cannabis oil, it tends to feel heavy in the mouth and takes on a bitter taste to most people. This is why we have tried blends of many different types of base oil combinations until we found the optimal one which has the properties of being light, and light tasting, and actually sweetens the cannabinoid oil taste, blends well with terpenes and oil flavorings, and is absorbed will in the oral cavity.

    SOURCING

Sourcing of all ingredients is critical in making the best quality products. That is why we use only the best, organic, GMO free, grapeseed, hempseed, coconut, MCT, and almond oils, from farms that have been growing those crops for years, and whose methods are tried and true.

Whether it is CBD isolate or full-spectrum oil, it is important to know that the hemp was grown on a legal, properly licensed farm that uses good practices, just as above, and that the lab that extracts the oil maintains the same standards.

    TERPENES

As stated above, terpenes have the benefit of augmenting the effects of the CBD, as well as having medicinal properties of their own.

    FLAVORING

Same quality standards apply, and we prefer the flavor to be very mild, not overpowering. Mint has been the most popular flavor with this product.

    MORE ABOUT TINCTURES

Tinctures offer some important advantages over edibles and other forms. Because a significant percentage of the total CBD in the tincture is absorbed into the bloodstream through the oral cavity, within the first 15 minutes of administration, consumers experience more rapid effects than with most other delivery methods. Also, there has been shown to be more consistent rates of absorption, from one person to another with tinctures, which makes prediction and maintenance of the optimal dose more straightforward. And tinctures are more predictable in general.

The main contraindication of tinctures is allergy to any of the components, and inability to take anything by mouth.

Shelf life for most oil based tinctures is about one year.

Retail prices will range, based on quality and amount of CBD, anywhere from $15 for a one ounce bottle with 250 mg of CBD or less, to over $150, for the same size bottle, with 1,500 to 3,000 mg or more.

Please understand that price and quality are not always related. It is best to try out several products, until you find the one that works best for you!
